Position Summary


The Data Engineering Leader guides a team of data engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes, databases, and data storage solutions that support key business operations.




This position will be 2 days onsite. Candidates must be local to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan area. Candidates must also be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship both now and in the future.




Compensation & Benefits



  • Salary Range: Target range is up to 150,000 with additional flexibility for individuals with a high level of management experience.

Key Responsibilities



  • Lead, mentor, and support the professional growth of direct reports

  • Establish and uphold high standards for development and production support

  • Set goals, delegate tasks, and monitor team performance

  • Contribute to the design and architecture of enterprise data systems

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines for both relational and NoSQL databases

  • Support the company's data analytics and cloud strategy initiatives

  • Help integrate traditional data systems with modern cloud-based architectures

  • Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies

  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide production support

  • Create clear, concise documentation for systems and processes

  • Assist in performance tuning and optimization of existing workflows

  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions through effective communication

  • Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment




Leadership Duties



  • Directly supervises Data Engineers and Automation Engineers

  • Responsible for hiring, performance management, and professional development of team members.




Qualifications


Education & Experience



  • Associate degree or equivalent in a business or technical field preferred

  • 5+ years of experience with SQL Server and ETL development

  • 2-3 years of experience with Azure Data Factory

  • 1-2 years of leadership or supervisory experience

  • 1-2 years of experience with Snowflake, Databricks, and Python

  • 2-3 years of experience in data architecture or similar design roles

  • Experience with NoSQL and Data Lake technologies preferred

  • Familiarity with orchestration and RPA tools is a plus

  • Financial industry experience is a plus




Skills



  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Deep understanding of SQL Server development and relational database concepts

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
