Description
This role is responsible for performing detailed site discoveries, documenting network and infrastructure readiness, and supporting implementation activities tied to IDMZ upgrades and lifecycle refreshes. The position requires both technical documentation expertise and hands-on capability with network infrastructure and cabling to address issues directly while onsite
Location:
  • Must be able to train onsite in Decatur, IL for 1 month
  • Must be willing to travel to Midwest, Canada, and South
  • Will work remote on non-travel days

Top Required Skills
Enterprise Network Infrastructure knowledge (Cisco preferred)
5+ years hands-on experience with:
    • Network cabling (installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting)
    • Rack/stack deployments
    • Power configurations (PDUs, UPS)
    • HVAC assessments

Key Responsibilities
Site Discovery & Documentation
    • Evaluate rack space, map network infrastructure, document MDF/IDF/server rooms
    • Record switch ports, SFPs, cable conditions, HVAC, and power redundancy
    • Identify and document all installed equipment

Hands-On Cabling & Troubleshooting
    • Terminate, test, and label cables
    • Correct deficiencies and support cutovers
    • Ensure compliance with GT Infrastructure Standards

Implementation & Support
    • Deploy servers, switches, firewalls
    • Provide on-site support during installations and go-live phases
    • Travel to each site 2-3 times

Collaboration
    • Work with GT PMs, OT teams, vendors, and service partners
    • Deliver accurate documentation and reports

Offsite Duties
    • Complete documentation packages
    • Assist with other GT Infrastructure initiatives

Qualifications
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 90-100%)
  • Comfortable in manufacturing environments
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and follow ADM safety protocols

Workload
  • ~50 site discoveries/year (2-3/month)
  • Multiple visits per site (discovery, implementation, go-live)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
