The Role at a Glance

This position provides leadership, direction, and functional expertise on complex projects/initiatives for their assigned area(s) of Domain Services engineering. This position will be responsible for elevating the IT Domain Services discipline and organization required to address existing risks and exposure.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintains a deep knowledge on current industry and emerging technology developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions for on-premises Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Azure Active Directory (cloud), Azure Key Vault, Secrets Management, SAML, OAUTH, NTLM, LDAP, Kerberos, PKI and LDAP environments.
  • Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Directs, establishes, and implements priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure departmental results for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Provides strategic leadership and direction to continually improve the capability and results for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Directs/executes approved strategy decisions and contributes to strategy creation for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Plan and execute the delivery of Active Directory services projects and BAU activities.
  • Continually seeks opportunities to improve and simplify our existing Active Directory and domain services architecture, implementation, and operational state
  • Develops and executes permanent solutions for internal and external audit requirements and ensures constant availability of all domain authentication services
  • Develops comprehensive test cases to include testing scenarios for both normal and degraded (e.g., disaster recovery, continuity of operations, data recovery, performance, and capacity planning
  • Manages and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Establishes and implements individual and team priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure completion of responsibility for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality across for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Serve as a resource to team members and internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Manages and evaluates individual/team performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Manages assigned area(s) of responsibility to ensure workloads are appropriately balanced among team members.
  • Oversees the resolution of operational issues, communicates status to impacted customers and management in a timely manner
  • Builds relationships and partners with various Information Technology teams.
  • Ensure that top talent is hired and retained for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Build organizational capability within their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Ensure Domain Services resources maintain compliance with service level agreements.
  • Advise support staff concerning administrative procedures, escalated technical issues, and priorities.
  • Monitor and prepare reports on progress, work trends, and problems.
  • Manage multi-site operations 24/7 with the support of Technical Leads and direct reports.
  • Responsible for the development and ongoing financial management of IT Domain Services budgets and finances.


What we're looking for

The individual will have overall ownership of Active directory space which includes developing target states, roadmaps, engineering & operational support, capacity management, coordination with other teams, metrics development and team development
  • 4 Year/bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (10 years of IT technical leadership experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
    10+ years of IT management experience that directly relates to the specific responsibilities of this position required, with at least 3 to 5 years demonstrated in a leadership role
  • Advanced knowledge in AD architecture and infrastructure (LDAP, Directory Replication, group policy, security, schema changes, domain controllers management)
  • Advanced knowledge of DNS, Kerberos, Windows Authentication and Single Sign On (SSO)
  • Ability to perform under stress in cases of emergency, critical or hazardous situations.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend processes improvements.
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
  • Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among senior/executive management, colleagues, and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
  • Agile Mindset; awareness/understanding of Agile methodologies (Preferred)

Pay Range: $105,301 - $175,000

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
