IMMEDIATE NEW JOB OPENING for a SQL Developer II to join our long-time, rapidly growing, Dallas-based client. They are a SaaS company, specializing in developing tech-enabled solutions for firms in the hedge fund and financial services industry.
Seeking a SQL Developer II who thrives on working with data and complex systems, and who has a passion for building efficient, optimized database solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SQL, ETL tools, and scripting languages like PowerShell, along with a commitment to quality and attention to detail. As a core contributor to technical operations, the Database Engineer will be integral to ensuring the accuracy and performance of data processes, making them a key player in supporting continued success in delivering high-quality solutions for clients.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with developers, business analysts, and external teams to review business requirements and transform them into database objects.
- Design, develop, document, test and optimize SQL database objects following coding standards.
- Develop new and enhance existing data extracts from Solvas Portfolio.
- Develop new and enhance existing SSIS packages to load and normalize data from external sources.
- Use Microsoft PowerShell to create scripts to orchestrate data load jobs: move, copy, and archive files; manipulating data files; convert from one format to another; initiating SSIS packages.
- Create, maintain, and publish data models, data dictionaries and ER diagrams.
- Contribute to and maintain Knowledge Base and SQL coding standards.
- Schedule, monitor and troubleshoot daily jobs and reports using job administration tools.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of overall SQL experience with the ability to develop, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries.
- Advanced knowledge of T-SQL/Stored Procedure/View/Function programming and design.
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing with ETL tools (SSIS preferred).
- Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages.
- Capital Markets or Finance industry experience.
- Experience with Solvas Portfolio or CDO Suite preferred.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without the need for current or future sponsorship.
- Enjoys working with numbers and data in various formats.
- Pays attention to detail and takes ownership and pride in delivering quality work outputs.
- Adapts quickly in fast-paced environments, possessing excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable communicating effectively (written and verbal) as well as working with a team.
