Overview: Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services Turnberry offers to clients. As a Systems Engineer, you will join Turnberry's Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.

Responsibilities:

Design and build a scalable, event-driven platform on AWS using services like Lambda, Step Functions, and API Gateway

Architect and manage containerized workloads on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) to support application teams

Develop reusable infrastructure components and templates using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation

Design and implement scalable, distributed systems with a focus on high availability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization, leveraging AWS services and modern architectural patterns

Implement and manage AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) roles, policies, and Service Control Policies (SCPs) to enforce security and compliance

Collaborate with a team of engineers to deliver iterative solutions in an Agile environment

Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of platform components and services

Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using AWS services like CloudWatch and third-party tools

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design, develop, and deliver iterative, high-quality solutions in an Agile environment, ensuring alignment with platform goals and user needs

Respond to platform-related production issues and ensure timely resolutions

Create unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for infrastructure and platform services

Perform load testing and stress testing to validate platform scalability and resilience

Collaborate with development teams to define testing requirements and ensure platform compatibility with application workloads

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience

5+ years of experience in software development or platform engineering, with a focus on cloud-native solutions

Proven experience building and managing platforms on AWS

Deep hands-on experience with AWS services, including EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions

Strong programming skills in Go (Golang) and/or Java

Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation

Solid understanding of AWS IAM roles, policies, and SCPs

Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer certification

Experience with serverless frameworks and event-driven architectures

Background in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

Experience with additional AWS services such as RDS, SQS, S3, and CloudWatch

Knowledge of security best practices for cloud platforms

The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $170,000 or the hourly equivalent.
