Job Details

  1. Project Background and Objectives.
    1. Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager Resident Engineer ( RE )
      1. Client requires resident engineering services with expertise in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager ( MECM ) to support their existing implementation. The RE service is comprised of multiple architect and senior engineer resources that will be aligned monthly with the desired work items. In addition to the technical resources, Service Provider will provide a Delivery Manager for project management, resource alignment, RAID log maintenance, and status reporting.
      2. Specific tasks assigned to the engineer include project-based planning, architecture, and engineering
      3. Support the evaluation, planning, implementation, and maintenance of MECM solution, security tools, and capabilities
      4. Recommend and support the implementation of security best practices for MECM
      5. Develop and document recommended policies and procedures to manage new capabilities
  2. Scope.
    1. For the duration of this project, Service Provider will provide engineering services that span across the following areas:
      1. Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
      2. General cybersecurity advisory servic.
      3. Operational support improvement
  3. Description of Services and Deliverables.
    1. Services to be performed by Service Provider, include, but are not limited to:
      1. Proactive Infrastructure and Content Monitoring
      2. Perform weekly health checks of key infrastructure components (such as the site servers, SQL, Windows Server Update Services ( WSUS ), and Software Update Points ( SUP )), including log reviews to identify and resolve early indicators of failure
      3. Conduct regular WSUS cleanup tasks and validate content library integrity to maintain update reliability
      4. Optimize MECM Distribution Points and Boundary Groups to support efficient content delivery
      5. Deploy automated alerting mechanisms for critical failures (e.g., sync, distribution, site component issues)
      6. Optimized Service and Client Management
      7. Maintain and refine Software Update Groups (SUGs), including implementation of Test > Pilot > Production phased deployments for updates
      8. Keep Operating System Components ( OSD ) components (including boot images, drivers, task sequences, OS images) and applications current and aligned with best practices.
      9. Monitor client health and configuration compliance on a regular cadence, adjusting client push settings as needed to ensure environment-wide reach.
      10. Actional Reporting and Security
        1. Document and deliver agreed-upon reports and dashboards on Update Compliance and Client Health metrics to support visibility and decision-making.
        2. Conduct regular role-based access control (RBAC) reviews and validate HTTPS communication to ensure infrastructure security standards are upheld.
        3. Validate the existing MECM backup and recovery process to confirm disaster preparedness
      11. Team Empowerment and Knowledge Transfer
        1. Offer informal hands-on training during maintenance activities, guiding internal staff on key monitoring and management practices.
        2. Develop and deliver up to four (4) customized How-To documents and procedural checklists aligned with the environment s unique workflows
