You'll also contribute to mechanical design solutions, configuration management, and the drawing release process.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain SysML-based MBSE models for RF and IR systems using Cameo and related tools.
- Develop architectural views including IBDs, BDDs, Use Cases, and Functional Diagrams to support system design.
- Collaborate with HWIL engineers and product owners to ensure MBSE models reflect evolving program requirements.
- Independently create mechanical design solutions using CAD tools (e.g., Creo, I-DEAS), including solid models and detailed drawings.
- Review and decompose system requirements into executable architectures and detailed designs.
- Coordinate with configuration management and manufacturing teams to meet program milestones.
- Release accurate, affordable, and producible engineering designs that support program goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in MBSE using Cameo and SysML-based modeling.
- 5+ years of experience defining system functionality, including state diagrams and operational modes.
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as Creo or I-DEAS.
- Experience with requirements tracking tools (e.g., DOORs, Cameo).
- Strong understanding of Open System Architecture (OSA) principles.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize and implement system architectures across HWIL systems.
- Solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles including structures, mechanisms, materials, and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to derive and decompose complex requirements.
- Exposure to digital engineering environments including MBSE and digital twin technologies.
- Background in system-of-systems architecture and formal verification processes.
- Familiarity with industry standards and federal regulations (ANSI, OSHA, AWS).
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5.
