Job Title: Senior Data Modeler

Location: Atlanta, GA  (Hybrid/remote)

Duration: 12 Months (Contract/Contract to hire)

Description:

Business Initiative/Purpose: (Goal, Business Impact, Accomplishments from the work)

  • This project will perform data modeling for a critical Wholesale project utilizing the Golden Source data model and Snowflake.

Bachelor Degree: (Required, Preferred or Not Required)

Role Responsibilities: (what they will be doing)

  • Supports Work streams in their data design needs ranging from Operational databases to Analytical Data Marts and Warehouses.
  • Gathers and analyzes data and business requirements and translates them into a data model.
  • Creates the implementation Logical data model and implementation Physical data model and provides the Data Definition Language (DDL) to the DBAs for implementation into the database management system (DBMS).
  • Maintains models in the Enterprise Data Model Repository which hosts most of Client's models for both in- house and certain vendor databases.
  • Own, maintain and enforce data modeling standards, policies, and procedures in order to ensure consistency between artifacts and designs and promote re-use.
  • Works closely with the Metadata Team in order to publish model information to the Metadata Hub including diagrams, business definitions, etc. Reverse engineers production databases including vendor into data models for Metadata, Application, and DBA information/documentation.
  • Serves as a communication conduit between the business and the developers by providing information as to what data is available, where it is located and how to access it, along with definitions of what it means. Applies table and column abbreviations from the Truist Naming Standards.
  • Generates model Data Dictionary and assist BAs with Data Mapping. Applies several DDL customizations based on the DBMS technology and DB specifics.
  • Adjusts data structures to optimize for performance and access. Manage the licensing, support, and vendor relationship for the ERwin Data Modeler Suite. Recommends changes to existing policies and procedures. Implements process improvements.
  • Leads complex projects with moderate resource requirements and risk. Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices. Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions. Mentors less experienced teammates to build technical expertise. May have people management responsibilities.
  • Design and development of data models (logical/physical) leveraging Golden Source data model.
  • Experience working with data modeling tools like Erwin to create ER diagrams.
  • Define data structures, schemas and tables.
  • Experience with Snowflake.

 

Must Have Skills/Prior Experiences: (Vendor should not submit any candidate that does not have these skills/prior experience.)

At least 10 years of data modeling experience
