Job Details

Overview:
Are you a former service advisor or technician who knows the ins and outs of vehicles-and is ready to hang up the wrenches and pick up the keyboard? We're looking for a technically savvy, detail-oriented communicator who can translate complex automotive knowledge into clear, structured PowerPoint presentations that support training and instructional design teams.
What You'll Do:
You'll work closely with instructional designers and training developers to create technical PowerPoint decks that serve as the foundation for training materials. Your deep understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and service workflows will help ensure the content is accurate, relevant, and easy to follow. You won't be writing the final training documents-but your work will directly shape them.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate technical automotive knowledge into structured PowerPoint presentations
  • Collaborate with training developers and instructional designers to align content with learning objectives
  • Ensure accuracy and clarity of technical information related to vehicle systems, diagnostics, and service procedures
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to gather input and feedback
  • Maintain consistency in formatting, terminology, and visual standards across all materials

What We're Looking For:
  • Hands-on experience as a mechanic or service advisor, preferably at a Honda dealership
  • Strong working knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and service operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint
  • 5-7 years of hands-on technical/mechanical experience in the automotive industry
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures
  • Honda/Acura experience highly preferred
  • Certifications & Technical Skills
  • ASE certifications A1-A8 required; L1 & L3 preferred
  • Familiarity with Honda training and publication development processes
  • Proficient in on-vehicle diagnostics and repairs
  • Skilled in Honda Diagnostic System (i-HDS), Service Information System (SIS), and Interactive Network (iN)
