VIRTUALIZATION ARCHITECT ( VMWARE Architect)

The Virtualization Architect will lead the design, deployment, and management of advanced virtualized infrastructures, ensuring
seamless integration with internal and external platforms, including hybrid and multi-cloud environments. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in VMware SDDC, hyper-converged infrastructure, and cloud technologies. The successful candidate will analyze existing IT environments, recommend improvements, and design innovative solutions that align with modern best practices in security, automation, and scalability.
Key duties include:
- Design & Implementation: Oversee the architecture, implementation, and lifecycle management of hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI), VMware Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC), and hybrid cloud platforms (e.g., VMware Cloud on AWS, Azure VMware Solution), ensuring seamless integration with device management systems.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance, security, and availability of virtual
infrastructures. Perform advanced troubleshooting for web, data, and application servers, maintaining secure and reliable
connections to cloud-managed devices and platforms.
- Automation: Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and PowerShell DSC to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment tasks.
- Virtual Machine & Container Support: Support the creation and lifecycle management of virtual machines (VMs), virtual desktops (VDI), and containerized workloads (Kubernetes/Docker) to enable modern application delivery and endpoint management.
- Infrastructure Management: Lead the design, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of hyper-converged and
traditional server environments. Manage software-defined networking (SDN) and storage (SDS) components within the VMware ecosystem.
- Hardware & Cloud Recommendations: Provide expert recommendations for server, storage, and cloud resources to support
DIIT infrastructure growth and deliver scalable virtual application environments. Collaborate with vendors to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies.
- Security & Compliance: Implement robust security measures, including micro-segmentation and zero-trust network
architectures, and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
Open to candidates who hold any of the following preferred certifications:
- VMware Certified Professional Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) or VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- ITIL v4 Foundation
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience:
o 7+ years of hands-on experience in virtualization architecture and engineering.
o 5+ years of experience in customer service, client-facing roles, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Skills:
o Proficiency with VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX-T, Horizon, and VMware Cloud solutions.
o Expertise in hyper-converged infrastructure platforms (e.g., Dell VxRail, Nutanix).
o Proficiency in automation and scripting (Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell).
o Strong understanding of cloud integration with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
o Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
o Strong attention to detail with a focus on process, quality, and security best practices.
