ASSYST is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise systems and applications on client's technology platforms. This position requires strong expertise in Java/J2EE, enterprise application architecture, and integration with various databases and front-end technologies.

Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, enhance, maintain, fix, and support enterprise systems and applications within the client technology platforms using open-source enterprise architecture and technologies, including Java/J2EE, Angular, PHP, HTML, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, RESTful API, and JBoss EAP.
  • Collaborate with business and IT teams to understand and translate business requirements into formal technical specifications and application code.
  • Develop and execute quality unit tests, integration plans, and scripts to ensure that application changes meet technical specifications.
  • Work closely with testing and business teams to complete acceptance testing and contribute to integration, performance, and other testing functions.
  • Participate in technical reviews at various stages of software and application development.
  • Adhere to all security, Project Management Office (PMO), change control, work management, and service delivery policies, processes, tools, and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the IT field developing and maintaining public-facing Java EE applications.
  • 8+ years of experience with Eclipse IDE, SVN/GIT, Spring, Struts, JPA, Hibernate, Web Services, and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB).
  • 7+ years of experience in Java EE development for enterprise applications.
  • 5+ years of experience Developing secure REST APIs and integrating with front-end technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience Working with Angular, React JS, and adopting responsive design standards.
  • 5+ years of experience Working with SQL stored procedures and complex queries (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • 4+ years of experience Integrating Java applications with MongoDB, SQL, or NoSQL databases.
  • 4+ years of experience Supporting health insurance marketplace, health and human services, or similar complex public-facing applications.
  • 2+ years of experience developing Java-based REST APIs using Spring REST, Struts, or similar frameworks.
  • Proficiency in build and deployment tools such as Maven, ANT, and Jenkins.
  • Experience with JBoss Fuse ESB and AngularJS.
  • Familiarity with security scanning tools (Veracode, AppScan, Fortify) and performing vulnerability fixes.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of SOA, microservices architecture, REST APIs, API/Web Services security, and JSON/XML schema development.
  • Experience with Agile software development practices and various project lifecycle tools.
  • Knowledge of Affordable Care Act (ACA) eligibility rules, Medicaid 8001 file processing, and EDI 834 enrollment transactions.
  • Familiarity with Project Management Office (PMO) standards, processes, and procedures.
