Job Description:

We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join our team in Houston, TX. This is a senior-level, on-site role requiring deep technical expertise and leadership in data science, particularly in healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience leading projects, working with large healthcare datasets, and presenting insights to executive leadership. This role requires AWS certification and hands-on experience with Cogito.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead high-impact data science projects from ideation to deployment

  • Develop, test, and maintain predictive models and algorithms

  • Mentor junior data scientists and share best practices

  • Work with Cogito and other EHR/healthcare data platforms

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights

  • Present findings to executive stakeholders (A-C level)

  • Translate complex data into clear, concise business recommendations

  • Ensure data quality and resolve large-scale data issues

Must-Have Skills:

  • Proven project leadership in data science

  • Experience building and managing datasets (structured & unstructured)

  • Strong communication skills; experience presenting to executive leadership

  • Hands-on experience with Cogito (required)

  • AWS Certified (required)

  • Strong programming and data analysis skills (Python, SQL, etc.)

  • Expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics

  • Knowledge of healthcare data, EHR systems, or revenue cycle data is a strong plus

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Engineering, or related field (Master s preferred)

  • 7+ years of professional experience in data science

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital setting strongly preferred

Note: This is an on-site role in Houston, TX. Remote work is not available. No relocation or signing bonus is provided.
