Employment Development Manager (Job Developer)
Schedule: M-F, 9a-5p
Position Summary:
The Employment Development Manager drives employment outcomes for veterans by building strong relationships with employers across high-growth industries and matching hiring needs with qualified veteran candidates. This role focuses on business development, job matching, and preparing veterans through resume support, interview coaching, and employment planning. Working closely with case managers, training specialists, and outreach staff, the manager ensures participants are job-ready and supported throughout the process. They use labor market insights and performance data to refine outreach strategies, meet placement goals, and maintain accurate documentation in program systems. This role supports the organization's mission to promote employment and economic stability for veterans.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Cultivate and maintain employer partnerships through outreach, cold calling, networking, hiring fairs, and events to create and expand sustainable job pipelines.

Identify employer hiring needs and tailor employment solutions, including On-the-Job Training and other incentives, and deliver presentations on the benefits of hiring veterans.

Conduct individualized employment assessments to determine skills, goals, and barriers to employment.

Provide job readiness coaching, including resume development, mock interviews, and guidance on workplace expectations and soft skills.

Match veterans to appropriate job opportunities based on employer needs and participant qualifications, ensuring strong placement and retention outcomes.

Develop and monitor personalized job development plans aligned with participants' abilities and labor market trends.

Collaborate with case managers, training specialists, and outreach staff to support participant success and retention.

Coordinate and participate in job fairs, hiring events, and employer tours to connect veterans with immediate opportunities and career exposure.

Monitor labor market trends and employer hiring patterns to strategically align veterans with high-demand career paths, using data analysis to guide outreach and placement strategies.

Maintain accurate documentation of placements, job leads, and participant progress in internal databases and trackers to support program tracking, compliance, and audits.

Track and achieve assigned program performance goals, including job placement and retention metrics.

Coordinate with internal departments to ensure wraparound support and smooth participant transitions into employment.

Stay informed on grant requirements and self-manage responsibilities to ensure compliance and timely program delivery.

Support employment initiatives across the organization to develop resources and increase placement outcomes.

Perform other duties as defined by the Program Director and management team.
Requirements:

5+ years of experience in job development, business development, recruitment, or employment services, with a proven record of placing diverse candidates into competitive employment.

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, human services, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Exceptional public speaking, employer engagement, and coaching skills, with experience leading job readiness workshops and outreach to employers.
