Job Details
Scope:
Telecommunications Technician will be part of the team responsible for planning, deployment, activation, operation, and demobilization of the Command Post.
- Communications setup (cellular routers, Wi-Fi, Internet, VPN, radios, telephones)
- IT systems installation and configuration (computers, printers, displays)
- Situational display systems (television, projectors, maps, real-time video feeds)
- Operational support (tech support and logistics coordination)
- 24/7 staffing (as required by Commanding Officer or CP Incident Commander).
Required Skill Sets and Qualifications
- Conduct site survey and assessment.
- Coordinate logistics for transportation and equipment delivery.
- Assemble and test all communications and IT systems.
- Provide ongoing technical and logistical support.
- Facilitate demobilization and restore the site to its original condition.
- Proficiency in deploying and managing wired and wireless networks, computers, and software in field conditions.
- Ability to troubleshoot connectivity, power, and hardware issues under pressure.
- Skilled in setting up generators, solar kits, UPS systems, and basic electrical work.
- Ability to operate in high-stress, remote, or hazardous environments.
