Title: Desktop Support Technician
Location: Providence, RI - On-Site
Duration: 6 Months
Position Overview:
The Configuration Specialist will play a key role in testing, analyzing, and validating the performance of hardware systems. This position is responsible for developing and executing test plans, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that hardware systems meet performance, reliability, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including development and production, to support the quality and functionality of hardware components and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test plans to validate the proper functionality of hardware components.
- Conduct regular hardware tests, including functionality, compatibility, and reliability assessments.
- Analyze test data, document results, and manage the tracking and verification of hardware defects.
- Collaborate with development and production teams to interpret hardware specifications and design testing protocols accordingly.
- Report usability, performance, and defect-related issues in a clear and concise manner.
- Participate in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing faulty hardware systems.
- Ensure all hardware systems comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on emerging hardware technologies and testing tools.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a hardware tester, configuration specialist, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of hardware testing principles, tools, and techniques.
- Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and system repairs.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Familiarity with various hardware components, architectures, and platforms.
- Understanding of industry regulations and compliance standards relevant to hardware.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective documentation and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in government, education, or regulated environments.
- Knowledge of testing automation tools and scripting for hardware validation.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Compensation
Compensation for roles at Beacon Systems Inc depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, BeaconGov provides reasonable range of compensation for this role.
