Position: Java Backend Developer
Location: Boca Raton, FL
Duration: Long term.

We re looking for a skilled Backend Developer to join the Supply Chain Strategic Operations Support (SCSOS) team, which owns the full DevSecOps responsibilities for four enterprise applications. This role is essential to the long-term support and enhancement of applications that require 24x7 availability. You'll play a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend system, especially post go-live.
While this role is primarily backend-focused, experience with front-end development (particularly React) is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Uphold backend engineering best practices for code quality, scalability, and maintainability
Collaborate with product managers and team leads to design and implement backend features
Integrate backend services with client-facing applications through cross-team partnerships
Design and evolve scalable service frameworks that align with business and technical growth
Monitor performance, identify backend issues, and proactively implement solutions
Review backend code, provide feedback, and support future API upgrades
Develop and maintain backend services for web, mobile, and third-party applications
Stay current on emerging backend technologies and apply them where beneficial

Requirements:

6+ years of backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot
Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database design
Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs
Familiarity with microservices architecture and version control using GitHub and Azure
Exposure to secure development practices and DevSecOps environments
Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team
Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to manage workload effectively under pressure and meet deadlines

Nice to Have:

Experience with front-end development using React
Familiarity with container orchestration tools such as Rancher or Kubernetes
Working knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployment strategies
