Job Title: Information System Security Officer (ISSO)

Location: 2580 Hwy 98, Panama City, FL 32403
Clearance Required: Active Secret
Work Environment: Onsite | 40 hours/week | Less than 10% travel


Job Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support the Air Defense Communication Service (ADCS) system for the Department of Defense. The ISSO will ensure the security posture of assigned systems, manage daily security operations, and work closely with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Information System Owner (ISO) to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the ISSM in managing system security documentation for certification and accreditation (C&A) in accordance with DoD and NIST RMF requirements.

  • Monitor and assess system changes and their security impacts, including coordination of configuration management and ATO package updates.

  • Conduct vulnerability scans using ACAS and apply required STIGs to maintain system hardening and compliance.

  • Manage eMASS entries, POA&Ms, and related documentation throughout the system lifecycle.

  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and technical standards aligned with NIST, ISO 27001, and DoD 8140 requirements.

  • Monitor logs, alerts, and security events; respond to incidents and perform risk assessments as needed.

  • Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to embed security across the system development lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Participate in audits and assessments; ensure all security operations are aligned with mission and regulatory needs.

  • Support implementation of cybersecurity service provider (CSSP) requirements and coordination with Cyber Protection Teams (CPT).


Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD Secret Clearance.

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on DoD information systems.

  • IAM Level III certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or CASP) per DoD 8140.01.

  • Deep knowledge of NIST RMF, eMASS, STIG application, and vulnerability management (ACAS/Tenable).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Server (2016/2019+), Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, and Cisco ISE.

  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and endpoint protection tools.

  • Strong understanding of incident response, risk management, and compliance reporting.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SQL Server, Tenable SecurityCenter, and Microsoft Defender/Endpoint tools.

  • Familiarity with maintaining POA&Ms, submitting ATO artifacts, and supporting system audits.

  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) implementation.

  • Experience supporting or collaborating with DoD Cyber Protection Teams (CPT).
