Role Overview
An elite proprietary trading firm is seeking a Trading Operations Engineer to join their Chicago team.

As a Trading Operations Engineer, you'll work closely with traders, researchers, and technologists to support and enhance operational workflows. You'll be responsible for maintaining and improving tools and systems that are critical to the trading process, ensuring seamless execution and accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities
* Serve as a key resource for trading desks, providing technical and operational support.
* Understand and support risk management tools used by traders.
* Upgrade and maintain trading tools to align with firm-wide technology standards.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance tools and address functionality gaps.
* Promote adoption of new technologies and integrate them into existing workflows.
* Develop expertise in proprietary systems for trade capture, inventory, treasury, and risk management.
* Reconcile trades and positions with clearing firms, brokers, and counterparties.
* Calculate and validate daily profit and loss (P&L).

Qualifications
* Proficiency in Python, Git, SQL, and Linux (preferred).
* Solid understanding of options theory and derivatives.
* Interest or experience in agricultural markets and products.
* 2-3 years of experience in trading operations, risk management, or related roles involving exchange-traded and OTC products.
* Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as computer science, mathematics, or equivalent experience.
* Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively with front-office teams.
* Strong analytical skills and a track record of implementing practical solutions.

This position is an on site role in the firms Chicago office working in US trading hours: 6:AM - PM CST with a rotational on-call schedule.
