Job Description

*** PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION REQUIRES RELOCATION TO GUAM FOR 6-12 MONTHS WITH POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION***

WHAT WE'RE DOING:
Lockheed Martin's Electronic, Cyber & Information Warfare is part of Lockheed Martin's Rotary & Mission Systems business area. As the company's center of excellence for end-to-end radio frequency mission solutions, this market segment focuses on developing technologies that help the warfighter stay ahead of threats in the electromagnetic spectrum.
WHO WE ARE:
Our team is solving the tough challenges and pushing the boundaries of technology to help our customers achieve their missions.
THE WORK:
We are seeking an experienced hardware engineer to support system installations in Guam. As a hardware engineer on this program, you will:
- Work-at-height (50+ ft) and confined spaces (within large antenna structures) often. Utilizing man lift equipment, cranes, winches, or pulley systems may be required. The assignment is highly hands-on and requires a strong comfort level with working with HW such as racks of servers, RF, and optical equipment as well as antennas and high power amplifiers.
- Configure, assemble, and install HW components, assemblies, and interconnects in accordance with production drawings, build instructions, and bill of materials. Installations include racks of COTS equipment such as servers, network storage, KVMs, radio frequency (RF) and optical equipment, uninterruptable power supplies and interconnects including coaxial, fiber, network, and power.
- Develop, implement and maintain processes for installation or removal/replacement of LRU's and system interconnects.
- Perform component level or rack level testing including radio frequency measurements such as gain/loss, power, timing, fiber link loss and TDR using measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and fiber optic test equipment.
- Operate complex antenna systems, especially with respect to supporting preparations for maintenance or return to operations. This will require a high level of knowledge of provided documentation, drawings, and manuals for equipment such as high power amplifiers, servo control units, generators, blowers, heat exchangers, chillers, breaker panels, safety interlocks and e-stops.
- Maintain configuration control over the product baseline including maintenance of as-built hardware lists, and compliance to drawings and bills of materials. Develop, track, and review engineering changes to drawings, documentation, and parts lists to ensure the product baseline is compliant to documentation at all times.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies with the HW system, including troubleshooting, identification of root cause, and implementation of corrective action including updates to any documentation required.
- Develop and maintain processes for full system power down and power up procedures. Work with vendors and customers to minimize downtime.
- Work with security to document all requests to ingress or egress hardware to/from secure areas.
- Develop and maintain a highly organized system to manage spare hardware, support equipment, tools, and test equipment. Manage and track calibration schedules for all required equipment. Receive, inspect and inventory incoming shipments, and coordinate paperwork, packing, and delivery for outgoing shipments.
WHO YOU ARE:
You thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment and are committed to delivering best-in-class products and solutions.
WHY JOIN US:
Your Health, Your Wealth, Your Life Our flexible schedules, competitive pay and comprehensive benefits enable you to live a healthy, fulfilling life at and outside of work.
