Job Title: Business Analyst Finance & Payments (Credit/Debit Card Experience)

Location: Alpharetta, GA , Hybrid Onsite

Job Type: Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a results-driven Business Analyst with a strong background in financial operations and credit/debit card processing to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with payment platforms, transaction reconciliations, and financial reporting, and will be responsible for optimizing and supporting end-to-end card payment processes while driving business improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and optimize business processes related to credit and debit card payments, including transaction flow, reconciliation, settlements, chargebacks, and disputes.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (finance, product, compliance, engineering) to align payment operations with business goals.

  • Perform data analysis and reporting on financial transactions, KPIs, and customer payment behavior.

  • Work closely with payment providers (Visa, Mastercard, acquiring banks, gateways, etc.) to manage relationships and resolve operational issues.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, PSD2, NACHA).

  • Document business and technical requirements for payment system enhancements or integrations.

  • Lead or support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for payment-related system upgrades or launches.

  • Identify and mitigate risks in payment processing and financial reporting.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.

  • 3+ years of experience in a business analyst, finance, or payments operations role.

  • Solid understanding of credit/debit card processing, authorization flows, settlement, and chargeback procedures.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficient in Excel, SQL, or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • Experience working with payment processors, acquiring banks, and/or financial institutions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
