OSP Engineer Contract
Hershey, PA - Hybrid Role: Will be in office at least two days per week.
OSP ENGINEER II-This individual is a Telecommunications Professional capable of supporting engineering in designing and releasing routine and specific outside plant work orders, both distribution and feeder.
The Outside Plant Engineer is responsible for supporting the designing, maintaining, and optimizing Telecommunication s network infrastructure in specific geographic locations from Hershey to Lancaster Pennsylvania. Candidates should have knowledge of computer systems including vBuild, CCP, UUI, CANVAS, ICGS, iVAPP, GMail, and Microsoft Office and be capable of providing OSP field and administrative support to the outside plant workforces. This candidate must be able to manage high-pressure and visibility work assignments independently. This OSP Design work will include supporting the Telecommunication Turf Engineers in Central PA with Rural Broadband and BAU design upgrades, repairs, and enhancements to the Outside Plant telephony network, which includes all structures, cable (copper & fiber), and associated equipment for aerial, underground, buried, and customer premise equipment for multi-tenant buildings. They will work with the turf engineers to help monitor and analyze residential requirements for multi-tenant building locations within a geographical turf and design solutions to extend Telecommunication (BAU/Rural Broadband programs) along with BAU projects including HBW and FTTC. He/she will coordinate with a variety of Telecommunication departments and also have direct customer contact with building management, property owners, and/or residential tenants. The engineer needs the ability to work in a diverse environment and must be able to solve complex problems with innovative solutions. The engineer must be able to price out solutions and select the most effective design. The candidate has the authority, up to a set dollar limit, to choose and implement solutions independently.
