POSITION SUMMARY:
The Engineering Tech Supervisor plans, organizes, supervises, and coordinates the activities of Technicians within the following areas operations, maintenance, and project management functions that are necessary in maintaining the physical structures, H.V.A.C., mechanical, electrical systems, utilities and grounds in an operative and safe working condition.
POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
High School/GED required
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work preferred other related experience will be considered.
Must have prior experience building and maintaining critical infrastructure master plans and long term capital plans preferred.
Must be able to operate in a fast paced, highly structured team based environment
Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Good written and verbal communication skills required.
Some evening or weekend work will be required
Bilingual - English/Spanish (Preferred).
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) years of experience in an Acute hospital environment in an engineering and/or facilities related role preferred.
Five (5) years in a leadership role preferred.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Facility Manager (CFM) and/or Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred. Related experience will be considered.
Progressive leadership experience effectively supervising and coaching technical personnel, as well as, effectively resolving customer relations issues.
Qualified experience in a customer service environment with resulting knowledge of customer account coordination.
Skill in establishing a balanced perspective on mission effectiveness and business results is critical.
Knowledge of State, Federal, and JCAHO regulations required.

Provide excellent customer service to all DHR customers. All employees are required to attend the DHR C.A.R.E.S program which outlines the Customer Service Principals including: Commitment, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Service.

B. Working Conditions: The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.
C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
