Project Scope
The consultant will serve as a System Center Service Manager Administrator responsible for maintaining and enhancing the agency s Microsoft System Center infrastructure. The position will involve developing new workflows within System Center Orchestrator, managing requests via Service Manager, and supporting integrations with the Cireson Web Portal.
Key responsibilities include environment maintenance, workflow automation, and ensuring system stability through patching, configuration, and vendor coordination.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities
The Service Manager Engineer will report directly to the SCDHHS Bureau Chief of Information Technology Servicesand will perform the following duties:
Administer and maintain Microsoft System Center Service Manager environments.
Design, develop, and implement workflows using System Center Orchestrator.
Manage and update the Cireson Web Portal; collaborate with vendors for software updates and service request configurations.
Perform system patching, configuration, and version upgrades for Service Manager, Orchestrator, and Cireson.
Collaborate with SCDHHS business units to gather requirements for new Service Manager requests and create process documentation.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Point of Contact (POC) for Service Manager processes and enhancements.
Provide recommendations for system and process improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery.
Develop user documentation, reports, and communications suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Support after-hours maintenance and project deployments as required.
Lead or assist in migration initiatives to bring the Service Manager environment to current standards.
Program Experience
Demonstrated, recent experience with Microsoft System Center in an enterprise environment is required.
Documented success managing and deploying Service Manager, Orchestrator, and related tools is highly preferred.
Technical Skills and Expertise
<>Required </>Minimum 3 years experience developing and supporting Microsoft System Center environments (design, configuration, best practices).
Minimum 3 years of administrative experience with Microsoft Azure.
Minimum 5 years of administrative experience with Microsoft Windows Server.
Minimum 3 years of experience working within a recognized IT methodology framework (e.g., ITIL, MITA).
Hands-on experience with System Center Service Manager
Experience with Cireson and System Center Orchestrator
Working knowledge of JavaScript, PowerShell, Power BI, SQL, HTML, and XML
Familiarity with healthcare systems and regulatory environments (HIPAA, CDC, etc.)
Prior experience leading major IT project implementations or migrations
Education and Certifications
<>Required:</>Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent relevant work experience.
Microsoft Server Administration Certifications (MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent).
General Duties
Develop and refine the Service Manager request intake process for SCDHHS.
Maintain, patch, and optimize the Service Manager environment while identifying areas for continuous improvement.
Lead or assist in migrating Service Manager infrastructure to updated standards and best practices.
