Job Overview:
The State of Ohio is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist 4 (TS4) to join our team to provide critical middleware and infrastructure support for key enterprise applications. The candidate will primarily support Rails (Middleware) functions and be responsible for the health, performance, and reliability of middleware platforms such as IBM WebSphere, Splunk, and other enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide production support for enterprise systems including Filenet and Cognos applications.
Support middleware platforms: IBM WebSphere, Splunk, IIS, PeopleSoft, EngageOne, and GoAnywhere.
Coordinate upgrade activities between DAS/OIT and application development teams.
Assist in project planning, release planning, and defining technical solutions.
Monitor system performance, identify issues, and perform root cause analysis.
Create and manage system alerts in Splunk for infrastructure and application thresholds.
Automate routine tasks and operational processes using scripting and third-party tools.
Participate in 24x7 production support and resolve incidents with minimal downtime.

Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with FairFax, IIB/ACE, or similar middleware platforms.
Experience supporting DevOps pipelines and CI/CD toolsets.
Strong communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
Additional Information:
This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work in Columbus, Ohio.
Candidate must be available for on-call support and production emergencies as needed.
