Sargent & Lundy's Government Services Division provides cutting-edge engineering design and consulting support to the management and operating contractors for US Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). This associate-level design engineering position offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Electrical Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement.
- Support electrical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design teams tackling the most difficult aspects of nuclear material handling and nuclear waste cleanup and processing
- Under supervision, responsible for the production of engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, specifications, and engineering reports
- Apply electrical engineering principles to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components
Qualifications
Essential skills and experience:
- Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance
- BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in electrical engineering in a nuclear environment (DOE preferred, commercial, or Navy)
- Self-motivated, have a strong willingness to learn, be able to work independently as well as with a multi-disciplined team, and have excellent organizational and communication skills
Valued but not required skills and experience:
- A P.E. license, preferably in the state of Tennessee
- Familiarity with electrical analysis software such as SKM Power Tools
