The Advanced Lead Test Engineer - Flight Test will provide direction and assistance to Flight Test Operation to meet assigned flight test objectives by demonstrating leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all activities related to flight test definition, planning, and execution
  • Collaborate with Systems, Controls, and other Engineering teams to drive flight test mission, readiness review, and safety planning
  • Responsible for Flight Ops planning and crew coordination, including pre- and post-flight briefing meetings
  • Maintain open and close communication with FTO team, GE Aerospace internal and external customers
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Develop and implement training modules as necessary
  • Coach less experienced team members

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • At least 6 additional years of experience in a flight test related engineering position
  • Able to obtain and maintain FAA Class-3 medical certificate or equivalent.

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible and off-shift hours (including 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, nights, weekends, and holidays) when business needs dictate.

  • Familiarity with flight test and turbomachinery instrumentation
  • Familiarity with flight test risk and hazard management
  • Familiarity with human factors, flight physiology, and crew resource management
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance

The base pay range for this position is $116,100 - $154,800 - 193,600. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 09/28/2025.
