Looking for a Semiconductor Fab Technician for their Semiconductor Fab.
Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain semiconductor processing equipment (e.g., photolithography, etch, deposition, metrology, packaging).
- Load/unload wafers and ensure proper documentation and handling.
- Perform routine equipment startups, shutdowns, and calibrations.
- Assist in troubleshooting and recovering process deviations or equipment issues.
- Follow detailed work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols.
- Accurately record data and maintain production logs and reports.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to support process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the cleanroom environment.
What is the scope of work/project for this position?
The technician will support semiconductor fabrication operations by operating and monitoring process tools, handling wafers, recording data, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. The role also includes troubleshooting basic equipment issues and working closely with engineers and other technicians to ensure production and R&D goals
The technician will gown up and enter the cleanroom, review daily priorities, and operate assigned tools or processes. Tasks include loading/unloading wafers, running recipes, recording process data, performing visual inspections, and escalating issues as needed. Communication with engineers and team leads is routine. The day may include supporting process development runs or assisting with preventive maintenance.
What is the training process for this role?
Hands-on training provided by experienced technicians and engineers, starting with safety and cleanroom protocols, followed by tool-specific instruction and supervised operations. Training is structured but paced to the individual s comfort and performance, with regular check-ins and certification milestones for each toolset.
Basic Qualifications for Semiconductor Fab Technician:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Computer & communication skills (Microsoft Office) Ability to work in a cleanroom (gowning required) and handle small, delicate components.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong team-oriented attitude.
- May require standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 lbs, and working in shifts, including nights or weekends
Preferred Qualifications for Semiconductor Fab Technician:
- Experience in FOD controlled lab environment Familiarity with shop order or manufacturing execution systems (MES) Associate degree or technical training in Electronics, or related field. - Experience with legacy semiconductor tools, including both wet and dry processes.
- Exposure to low-volume, high-mix R&D or prototyping environments.
- Basic understanding of process flows across front-end and back-end semiconductor fabrication.
