Our NORAD Operations Group

Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).

Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided:
Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.
Mitigation of orbital conflicts.
Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.
Operations and maintenance of classified communications.
Software development and integration.

NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at:
Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado
Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado
Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska
Vandenberg Space Force Base, California
Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world

Description of Duties:

The Systems Administrator supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will:
Configure server filters to provide requested data sets fCS users.
Troubleshoot the Agile Client SW (included in SIPR desktop images) to restore user connectivity.
Troubleshoot the Legacy System Interface software displayed to Command Center.
Generate Boundary Modification Request as needed fCS applications.
Manage and coordinate cybersecurity ACAS scans of GCCS servers, implement patch updates.
Provide continuity of operations by physically relocating to Alternate Site.
Provide System Administration (to the extent allowed by the communications infrastructure) fCS resources at NORAD/NORTHCOM Command Center Building 2/PSFS after duty hours (during weekends and holidays).

The function of the position is to provide 24/7/365 monitoring of CMSFS (NORAD) designated critical Global Command and Control System (GCCS) sites. System/Site availability is strictly monitored by Joint Staff Support Center (JSSC). CMSFS GCCS is the Department of Defense (DOD) Chairman Of The Joint Chief of Staff Command and Control (C2) system of record for providing all the tools to plan, execute and recover from any military action. Additionally, after duty hours/weekends, network monitoring extends to the PSFS (USNORTHCOM) critical site, maintains a positive cybersecurity posture through the weekly implementation of Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert System (IAVAS), and Monthly/Quarterly software patch updates/compliance.

Basic Requirements:
Must have an active Top Secret clearance w/ SCI Eligibility
Must have DoD IAT Level II or higher certification (Security+ce)
1 year of directly related experience
3 years of general work experience
High School Diploma or GED
Must have working knowledge and system administration of Microsoft Windows operating systems (OS) administration and associated hardware.
Experience with Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies
Cyber and Space Operations experience

Desired Requirements:
General knowledge of VMware virtual desktop environment (VMware View Connection server, vCenter server, vSAN Storage, Nutanix software) and associated dependencies
Understanding of network topologies and protocols
Remedy trouble ticket experience and skills
Demonstrated experience interfacing with senior Air Force and/or DoD customers, as well as experience serving multiple DoD Agencies, is highly desired
Knowledge of Cisco and Juniper Routers/switches.
Vulnerability Management Experience
STIG and POAM experience

This position is expected to pay $78,000 - $80,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
