Description
Our ocean conservation nonprofit client is seeking a collaborative, communicative Salesforce Systems Administrator to join their team in a hybrid capacity. The ideal candidate will be onsite in Monterey at least on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as for key meetings, strategy sessions, and collaborative whiteboarding.

This Salesforce Systems Administrator will be:
- Overseeing Salesforce architecture, administration, and performance across Nonprofit Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Data Cloud, ensuring data governance, security, and scalability
- Designing custom objects, fields, and data flows aligned with IT policies and needs
- Supporting Salesforce implementation, configuration, and integrations with tools like Marketing Cloud, Tableau, DocuSign, Stripe, Intacct, and custom APIs etc
- Building and maintaining Lightning Web Components (LWC) and backend APIs for workflows associated with ticketing, donations, event sign-ups, membership, and more
- Managing entity relationship diagrams, archival processes, and historical data migration, including legacy membership data
- Automating workflows and backend processes to improve efficiency
- Monitoring Salesforce performance, logs, scheduled jobs, and integrations, proactively resolving issues
- Conducting security audits, permission reviews, and compliance checks for backup and archival systems
- Leading deployments and updates using DevOps tools, change sets, and GitHub
- Staying current with Salesforce releases to ensure compatibility and smooth upgrades
- Partnering with the System Integrator vendor for transition to internal ownership and stability
- Collaborating with teams across Guest Experience, Marketing, Membership & Development, Education, Finance, and Technology & Innovation to deliver integrated solutions
- Implementing and maintaining backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes
- Serving as a technical governance and systems optimization resource with potential growth into architecture or leadership roles
Requirements
Skills / Experience:
- Expert-level Salesforce administration across Nonprofit Success Pack, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, and custom APIs
- Required Salesforce Certifications: Advanced Administrator and Platform App Builder
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce implementation, complex integrations, LWCs, APIs, and backend data flows
- Proven experience in legacy migration, data archival, and SQL-based data management
- Proficiency in Tableau dashboards and analytics supporting data-driven decisions
- Experience with Ticketure or similar membership/ticketing systems with bidirectional sync
- Strong analytical, data modeling, and process automation skills
- Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations, ideally conservation, education, or public engagement
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across teams
- Comfortable with vendor transitions, knowledge transfer, and internal ownership
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and DevOps tools like GitHub Actions
- Strong focus on data governance, compliance, audit trails, and Salesforce security
- Demonstrates accountability, leadership, initiative, and problem-solving in ambiguous situations
- Understanding of agile methodology and experience collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and engineers
- Preferred: experience with Data Cloud, Shopify, Google Analytics, and disaster recovery planning
