JOB TITLE: Principal Product Development Engineer
REMOTE TYPE: Office Worker

JOB LOCATION: 3400 W. Plano Parkway Plano, TX 75075 [hybrid position]
DUTIES: Lead cross-functional teams that include members from disciplines including design, engineering, marketing, and manufacturing. Work on project oversight by supporting the entire product development lifecycle from concept through design, development, testing, and into production. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members, helping them develop their skills and careers. Drive the innovation of new products and improvements to existing products, often requiring creative thinking and a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends. Design and Prototype the design process, including the creation of prototypes to test concepts and refine designs. Utilize advanced technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to overcome engineering challenges during product development. Ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements through rigorous testing and validation processes. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for product designs, specifications, and manufacturing processes. Work with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams, to understand requirements and communicate project progress. Integrate feedback from users, clients, and team members to refine product designs and functionality. Work continuously to seek ways to improve product development processes, incorporating new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Stay informed about technological advancements and competitive products in the market to guide strategic direction. Depend on the industry and company, a Principal Product Development Engineer may also need specialized knowledge in areas including software development, mechanical engineering, electronics, materials science, or biomedical engineering. Work on steering the product development process, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget, and that the final product meets or exceeds the expectations of customers and stakeholders. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation working on product development; utilizing experience include hands-on technical work, project management, and successful product launches; working on specific software tools and platforms relevant to the product development process may be required CAD software for design engineers and programming languages for software engineers; designing and prototyping the design process, including the creation of prototypes to test concepts and refine designs; creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation for product designs, specifications, and manufacturing processes; and working with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams, to understand requirements and communicate project progress.
