Warehouse IT Support Specialist (On-site)

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse IT Support Specialist on a contract to hire basis to provide on-site technical support for our warehouse operations in Plainfield, IN. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting warehouse automation systems, RF devices, PLCs, barcode scanners, and industrial IT infrastructure. This position plays a critical role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across our warehouse technology environment.

Location: Plainfield, IN (On-site)

Type of Shift: 1st shift (6am-2:30pm) or 2nd shift (2:30pm-11pm)

What You Will Do:


  • Provide hands-on technical support for warehouse IT systems, including automation systems, barcode scanners, RF devices, handhelds, industrial PCs, and back-office equipment.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain RF devices and integrate them with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) using Mobile Device Management tools (e.g., SOTI).
  • Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot label and letter printers to ensure reliable performance.
  • Respond to end-user requests in person, by phone, or through escalated helpdesk tickets.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues across warehouse and office environments.
  • Support and maintain Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), by escalating issues properly following the proper escalation process including initial troubleshooting.
  • Monitor and support network connectivity for warehouse systems, including wireless access points and mobile carts.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Windows-based PCs and related systems used in warehouse operations.
  • Support PLC-based automation systems with basic diagnostics and vendor coordination.
  • Perform installation, upgrades, and preventive maintenance of warehouse IT equipment including label printers, RF devices, and conveyor control systems.
  • Ensure device compliance with IT security policies and remove malware when necessary.
  • Document technical procedures, resolutions, and share knowledge with the IT support team.
  • Manage tickets effectively using the Help Desk system and maintain accurate asset tracking records.
  • Assist with IT components of warehouse automation projects, audits, and system rollouts.
  • Provide immediate on-site support during system outages or automation failures to minimize downtime.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

What You Bring to The Table:


  • 5 10 years of experience in IT support, preferably in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
  • Must have experience with RF device configuration.
  • Must have strong experience providing IT support for printers (Zebra is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of warehouse technologies such as WMS, RF devices, and industrial PCs.
  • Hands-on experience with MDM tools (e.g., SOTI)and network troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and warehouse automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on-site with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Windows OS troubleshooting and imaging tools is a plus.
  • Exposure to conveyor or automation control systems is a plus.
  • IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, etc.) are a plus.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on, on-site position in an active warehouse environment supporting 24/7 operations. The candidate must be comfortable working around industrial equipment and occasionally in off-hours or high-priority situations.
