Job Description:
We are seeking a hands-on and technically minded individual to join our team as a Test Automation Lab Technician. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with hardware, wires, and cables. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the physical setup, maintenance, and organization of our test automation lab. We are looking for a candidate who not only has the technical skills but also possesses the initiative and desires to grow into a leadership role and help guide the team. This is an excellent role for an entry-level professional or a student looking to gain practical experience and demonstrate leadership potential in a dynamic tech environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Initiative: Actively take initiative on tasks, lead small projects, and demonstrate a desire to mentor and guide others.
- Hardware Setup and Maintenance: Build, add, modify, and remove lab equipment from test fixtures. This includes working with wire harnesses, USB hubs, connectors, and power supplies.
- Troubleshooting: Test and debug hardware connection or operational issues with test fixture equipment.
- Lab Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient lab space. Help set up new nodes and manage inventory of off-the-shelf equipment.
- Infotainment Device Preparation: Coordinate with project members to prepare and configure infotainment devices for use in the Test Automation lab.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Lead Hardware Lab Technician, manager, and other team members to ensure the lab runs smoothly.
Qualifications:
- Technical Aptitude: A strong understanding of low-voltage electrical connections and general computer hardware. Experience with stripping wires, working with various connectors, and understanding power supplies is essential.
- Hands-on Experience: Practical experience with hardware installation and maintenance. Previous roles in a similar environment, such as a technician at an electronics retailer or other jobs involving wires and connectors, are highly valued.
- Leadership Potential: A demonstrated desire to lead and manage small technical teams or projects. Prior experience in a team lead or coordinator role is a strong plus.
- Technical Skills: Experience with Windows OS. Familiarity with Linux is a bonus.
- Communication: Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively with a team.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: A proactive and self-motivated approach to identifying and solving problems.
Education & Experience:
- A formal degree is not required, but a passion for technology and a desire to learn are a must. This role is ideal for someone currently pursuing a degree in a technology-related field.
