IT Application Developer/Administrator - aka Application Manager – Laurel, MD area
Job Type: Full-Time, (On-site)
Job Overview:
CXI is seeking a detail-oriented, innovative, and organized Application Manager to oversee the management, optimization, and performance of enterprise applications. This role ensures seamless integration between platforms, supports business operations, and maintains system health for key applications, including ERP (NetSuite preferred), EDI, order fulfillment, WMS platforms, and e-commerce tools like Shopify and Salesforce.
The Application Manager will work closely with IT, Operations, and Business Teams to maintain optimal system performance, troubleshoot application issues, and drive process improvements. Additionally, this role will provide Level 2 & 3 support for enterprise applications and helpdesk escalations.
Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee ERP system administration (SouthWare, NetSuite, or similar).
- Ensure seamless integration between ERP, EDI, WMS, and e-commerce tools like Shopify and Salesforce.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot errors, and drive efficiency improvements.
System Integrations & Performance Monitoring
- Manage integrations between ERP, EDI, WMS, and third-party applications.
- Use SQL Server to troubleshoot and optimize database queries.
- Develop dashboards and reports to track system performance and data flows.
Helpdesk & User Support
- Provide Level 2 & 3 support for enterprise applications.
- Assist the IT Helpdesk in troubleshooting application-related issues.
- Gather feedback from business users to enhance system usability and functionality.
System Enhancements & Process Automation - VERY IMPORTANT
- Implement workflow automation to improve system efficiency.
- Develop custom scripts (HTML, JavaScript, SQL) for system enhancements and reporting.
- Evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance business operations.
Ticketing & Issue Resolution
- Utilize Jira for tracking issues, bug fixes, and feature requests.
- Ensure timely response and resolution of system-related tickets.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain detailed system documentation for configurations, workflows, and integrations.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in application & ERP administration, and enterprise software support.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, or similar).
- Strong background in business applications, vendor management, and enterprise software strategy.
- Experience with EDI, order fulfillment, WMS platforms, and e-commerce tools (Shopify, Salesforce, CommerceHub, TrueCommerce).
- SQL Server proficiency for query optimization and reporting.
- Knowledge of HTML and JavaScript for UI customization and minor system enhancements.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with change management and software implementation projects.
- Knowledge of process automation and workflow optimization.
- Familiarity with Jira for ticket tracking and issue resolution.
