Job Details
A global law firm is seeking a Manager, Cloud Governance to lead enterprise data governance initiatives across cloud and on-prem environments. This role will define and implement data policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen the firm's data protection posture. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a data governance framework, including policies, standards, and controls
- Implement data retention, classification, and protection programs using Microsoft Purview and related tools
- Oversee data security and privacy controls to safeguard firm and client information
- Collaborate with Security, GRC, IT, and Legal teams to align governance with business and regulatory requirements
- Provide training and guidance on data handling best practices
- Design reporting and alerting mechanisms to support proactive data governance
- Microsoft Purview (Information Protection, Lifecycle Management, DLP)
- Varonis, iManage Threat Manager
- Azure Information Protection, O365, SharePoint, Teams
- Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, and related frameworks
- 7+ years in IT, information security, or data governance
- Expertise in cloud data protection and Microsoft 365 security tools
- Strong understanding of risk management and compliance frameworks
- Certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, or CRISC preferred
- Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
