Job Description: Electrical / Protection and Control Engineer Location: San Ramon, CA (Onsite)
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Protection and Control Engineer to design and implement electrical systems for transmission and distribution substations. The role involves developing P&C packages, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design protection and control schemes for substations.
- Prepare wiring diagrams, schematics, and protection panel layouts.
- Perform load calculations and select appropriate equipment.
- Provide field support and inspections for substation projects.
- Interface with clients and vendors; mentor new engineers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering.
- 4+ years of experience in utilities/energy industry.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License (preferred).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of ETAP, WinIGS, IEEE 88/998.
- Familiarity with SCADA, relay settings, and RTU configuration is a plus.
