Job Details

We're looking for a technically skilled and customer-focused Service Software Engineer to join our Building Automation support team in the Detroit area. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert assisting customers with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and support across industry-leading BAS platforms including Trend, Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Distech, and Alerton.
You'll work directly with clients and field technicians to identify and resolve system issues, support field operations, and ensure high-quality service delivery across complex building management environments.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to customers using BAS platforms such as Trend, Niagara, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Distech, and Alerton.
• Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or text in a timely and professional manner.
• Take ownership of technical issues-researching, diagnosing, and resolving or escalating as needed.
• Analyze building automation system performance and identify root causes for service disruptions or inefficiencies.
• Recommend and implement the best possible solutions for system repair or optimization.
• Maintain internal documentation and support databases with issue resolution details and customer interactions.
• Keep customers informed about product updates, new features, and system enhancements.
• Follow up with clients to ensure complete issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with field technicians and internal teams to provide end-to-end support.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior support engineers.
• Participate in the on-call rotation to provide after-hours support and help ensure consistent system uptime.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in building automation, controls, or related technical support roles
• Proficiency with one or more BAS platforms: Trend, Niagara, Honeywell, JCI, Distech, or Alerton
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical users
• Experience working with remote support tools and internal ticketing systems
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team
