Position: Senior Electrical Test Engineer
Location: California
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Electrical Test Engineer to join our dynamic hardware team. In this role, you will play a vital part in the testing, validation, and debugging of our electrical systems powering edgeAI devices used in transit and enforcement solutions. Your work will directly contribute to the performance, reliability, and scalability of our AI-driven hardware platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute electrical test plans and maintain detailed test documentation.
- Build and maintain test benches, cable harnesses, and custom test fixtures.
- Debug and troubleshoot complex hardware issues including power supply, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC challenges.
- Perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions for RMA and field-returned units.
- Collaborate with R&D, reliability, and manufacturing teams to resolve hardware defects.
- Support qualification testing for electrical compliance and regulatory standards.
- Assist in prototype bring-up and lab debugging using scopes, VNAs, logic analyzers, etc.
- Conduct functional, performance, and environmental testing to validate hardware designs.
- Develop automated test setups and procedures to verify compliance with industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical testing and debugging of hardware systems (preferably in edgeAI, automotive, instrumentation, or embedded systems).
- Proficiency with Altium, Orcad, SPICE tools; strong understanding of schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers.
- Strong knowledge of power management circuits, image sensors, and high-speed signal design.
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC standards and mitigation techniques.
- Skilled in failure analysis, RMA workflows, and handling field returns.
- Experience with various interfaces including PCIe, USB, HDMI/DP, UART, GMSL, LVDS, MIPI, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, CAN.
- Solid understanding of electrical compliance requirements (ESD, EMI, UL, SAE, Automotive standards) for US and EU markets.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with thermal management in electronic systems.
- Scripting knowledge (e.g., Python) for test automation and data analysis.
- Familiarity with camera optics and image signal processing.
