Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Birmingham, AL that is seeking a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer.

Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Automation Engineer III to join a high-performing QA team focused on both frontend and backend test automation. This Quality Assurance Automation Engineer will play a pivotal role in validating the functionality and performance of a business-critical internal application. The ideal candidate will possess deep experience with automated testing frameworks, modern development tools, and have a solid background in both test automation and software development. Experience in integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and mentoring junior engineers will be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for both frontend and backend components
* Utilize tools such as Selenium, Postman, qTest, and RestSharp to validate APIs and user interfaces
* Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Harness, Bamboo, and GIT
* Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies to ensure quality is built into every phase of the software development lifecycle
* Analyze test results and report issues using JIRA and document processes in Confluence
* Perform data analysis and create SQL queries to validate backend results against expected outcomes
* Provide mentorship to junior QA engineers when applicable

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience
* Hands-on experience with C#, Selenium, Postman, and qTest
* Proven experience with test automation frameworks such as NUnit and tools like RestSharp and SauceLabs
* Strong understanding of API testing (REST/SOAP)

Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Data Management, Statistics, or related discipline
* Experience working with databases, writing SQL queries, and performing backend validations
* Familiarity with modern development environments such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, or IntelliJ
* Exposure to Power BI, containerized environments (e.g., Docker), and Agile/Waterfall methodologies
* Experience working in CI/CD environments with tools like Artifactory, Bamboo, and Harness
* Knowledge of continuous integration, delivery, and testing best practices
* Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus
* Strong collaboration and communication skills
* Analytical and detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
* Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and sense of ownership

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
