Position Title: Senior Firewall Security Engineer
Skillset: Position will be located within Digital Technology: Firewall Management and Network Security Team. Resources will be assigned to the day shift.
Required skillset must include:

  • 7+ years experience in firewall and network administration (emphasis on firewall)
  • Hands-on experience performing firewall administration (maintaining, upgrading, testing, and implementing firewall configuration changes as well as assessing the impact of changes on applications and other related systems)
  • Hands-on experience performing router and switch administration
  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco ASA firewalls, routers, switches, and Check Point firewalls
  • Hands-on experience with operations and security in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure with Palo Alto Prisma
  • Experience in firewall and security architecture desired
  • Strong knowledge of firewall management principles and best practices
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • Experience with developing and updating technical documentation, such as network architecture text and diagrams, security plan controls, risk assessments, etc. (Visio experience a must.)
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow (SNOW) creating, managing, and resolving incident/change tickets.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools, AAA platforms, logging, configuration, and other system monitoring tools
  • Experience generating and leveraging Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Familiarity with and ability to investigate Intrusion Detection System (IDS) / Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) alerts
  • Familiarity with Payment Card Industry (PCI) principles and best practices
  • Understanding of ITIL principles, and experience with problem and change management, as well as reporting/tracking trends
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently through written and verbal communications
  • Requires daytime on-call status
  • Work is performed either remotely or in an office environment
  • Must have Palo Alto professional security-related certifications or equivalent certifications.
  • Must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to take direction and work well with others in a team environment. Must be self-motivated and highly organized.
