Construction Inspector

**Future Opportunity**

CSEngineering is looking to add a Construction Inspector to our growing team! These professionals will oversee construction quality across large-scale renovation and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with building codes, specs, and safety requirements. You'll track schedules, document inspections, and support contractor coordination.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Outlined below are the critical requirements for this position:

  • The Construction Inspector shall be familiar with and adhere to all instructions outlined in the 32 series Civil Engineer AFIs, Unified Facilities Criteria, and applicable building codes.
  • The Construction Inspector shall work with Civil Units Project Managers within DoD to ensure construction contractor compliance with approved plans and specification for various construction contracts. Contracts may be for the construction or renovation of large, complex administrative office buildings, hospitals, aircraft maintenance and industrial facilities, or utility distribution systems.
  • The Construction Inspector shall coordinate with construction contractor representatives concerning work scheduling, interpretation of plans and specifications, selection of work methods, and acceptability of materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • The Construction Inspector shall investigate and report on controversial situations which have either led to formal claims or are expected to lead to such claims by the construction contractor.
  • The Construction Inspector shall coordinate with the contracting officer to correct construction contract deficiencies, unacceptable material, or work performed to ensure compliance with the contract requirements.
  • The Construction Inspector shall monitor and evaluate construction contract progress schedules noting work progress, delays, or other problems that could interfere with construction, review construction contractor's cost breakdowns, progress measurement data, reports of material and equipment used, and field inspection and survey reports in order to compute periodic payments and recommend approval/disapproval of contractor submittals and progress schedules.
  • The Construction Inspector shall prepare various documents, reports, and correspondence and maintain daily logs and safety reports addressing the progress of construction and the administration of the contract.
  • The Construction Inspector shall provide Construction Dailies and Weekly Activity Reports


REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree


Preferred Experience

  • Experience with AFIs and Unified Facilities Criteria is key.
