Position: Mainframe Production Control Engineer

Job Description:
We are looking for a hands-on Mainframe Production Control Engineer with expertise in batch job scheduling and monitoring within a multi-platform enterprise environment. The ideal candidate should be highly skilled in CA-7, JCL troubleshooting, and proactive incident handling, while maintaining excellent client communication and a strategic approach to system management.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform batch job monitoring, scheduling, and troubleshooting using CA-7 or equivalent tools (e.g., Control-M).
Resolve job abends (e.g., SB-37, SE-37, catalog issues, JCL errors) and reinitiate jobs via CA-7/CA-11.
Manage mainframe environments using TSO, ISPF, FileAID, and SPOOL.
Write and maintain Unix Shell scripts to support scheduling operations.
Utilize Endevor or similar version control tools for job maintenance and deployments.
Handle incidents and requests using ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms.
Interface with clients to build rapport, address issues, and provide solutions quickly.
Collaborate across teams to ensure smooth end-to-end batch processing operations.
Required Skills:
Primary: CA-7, Control-M, JCL, Batch Monitoring, Job Scheduling
Mainframe Utilities: TSO, ISPF, FileAID, SPOOL
Scripting: Unix Shell Scripting
Version Control: Endevor or similar
ITSM: ServiceNow (or similar ticketing system)
Soft Skills: Strong communication, customer management, and team collaboration
Additional Qualities:
Proven ability to manage large-scale customers and batch processes.
Must be strategic, self-driven, and proactive in handling issues.
Hands-on approach is mandatory for this role.
Ability to think end-to-end and contribute to team and process growth.
