Attention San Antonio jobseekers! We are looking for highly motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a project with the IRS. This role is unique in the fact we are willing to sponsor a Public Trust clearance.



The candidate will provide integration and operational support for production and lower environment cloud and web based applications with JBoss, MQ, Apache, VMWare, F5 Load balancer and other network and cloud components. Resource will join a team of Cloud Engineers and O&M technicians who work collaboratively with infrastructure engineers, project managers, and end users to make our process run efficiently.



The SRE will Lead Incident Management, Triage and Troubleshooting of incidents, ServiceNow Service Request and Incidents by coordinating internal across teams (Cloud Engineer, Network, Linux, Database, Logging/Monitoring). SRE will also work with Cloud Engineers to improve ongoing technical operations and maintenance activities of the cloud environments. This role will include rotating on-call shifts in addition to normal business hour support.



Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • 4-6 years of experience in Information Technology with 0-2 years of experience managing IT staff.

  • Must have strong communication skills and be able to effectively communicate technical issues.

  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.

  • Advanced knowledge of issued hardware and/or software products and excellent working knowledge of personal computers and peripherals required.

  • Ability to get team members to work together to accomplish tasks.

  • Stays up to date technically and applies new knowledge to job.

  • Ability to think long-term and establish achievable action plans.

  • Actively looks for ways to help people in the most efficient manner.

  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
