Position: IT Systems Engineer
Rate: Rate is dependent on candidates experience
Length: 6+ Month Rolling Contract - High potential to extend and/or convert full time!
Location: Eglin AFB - 1701 State Road 85 North, Eglin AFB, FL 32542

Project Details:
  • For regular patching day to day responsibilities:
  • Helping automate their current process for hardening, testing, verification and documentation
  • Patching of the systems - they use WSUS and Ivanti
  • Supporting any issues that may arises from the fielded training systems at Eglin AFB.

    As a Systems Engineer, invites you to apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, validate and verify resilient cyber solutions across the product lifecycle.
    In this role, you will:
    • Develop, evaluate, and analyze design constrains, trade-offs and detailed system and security design as they pertain to the cyber domain.
    • Conduct cybersecurity test and evaluation of hardware and/or software designs to verify and validate compliance with defined specifications and requirements.
    • Implement appropriate assessment and authorization activities, as required by customers.
    • Respond to DOD guidance and engineer appropriate solutions for fielded systems.

    Basic Qualifications:
    • Active SECRET security clearance, and ability to maintain the security clearance.
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering), or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related master's degree.
    • 5+ years of technical systems engineering experience with DOD systems.
    • A desire to learn, grow, and share knowledge in the cybersecurity domain.
    • DoD 8570 approved baseline certification for IAT Level II (IE CompTIA Security+, GSEC SSCP, CCNA-Security) or ability to achieve certification within 6 months.
    • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, be well organized, flexible, and self-motivated.
    • Ability to communicate effectively within cross-functional teams (Systems Engineers, Software Developers, System Administrators, and Information Systems Security Managers).

    Desired Skill
    • Experience applying RMF (or DIACAP) to DoD IT systems.
    • Experience with vulnerability scanning.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • System Administration experience.
    • Experience with DISA IAVMs and STIGs.
    • Experience with HBSS/EPO, PowerShell and/or BASH scripting.
