Job Type: Contract-to-hire
Contract Duration: 6-months, contract-to-hire
Worksite Location: 4-days onsite in Downtown Dallas, TX (1-day remote)
Hourly Compensation: $60.00 - 75.00 / hour (W2), based on experience-level and credentials
Salary Conversion Target: $130,000 - $150,000 + full benefits including a 401K match plan

Vaco is seeking an accomplished Cybersecurity Manager to help build out and lead a cybersecurity team for a multi-brand client located in Downtown Dallas, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to come in from the ground level and be involved in building out an IT security practice in which you will a key contributor to establishing infosec policies and procedures, governance, and tool selection across their family of brands. This resource will work in a shared IT and infosec service model, collaborating with cross functional teams and business leaders. If you have experience working in the MSP space, or supporting multi-brand, shared service model organizations, this opportunity would be ideal for you. This resource will be required to work onsite 4-days per week in Downtown Dallas, TX, with allowance to work 1-day remotely. Candidates must also be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States, as our client is unable to sponsor at this time.
Job Scope:
- Lead, coach, develop, and manage a team of cybersecurity professionals which includes individual performance management and success planning.
- Function as a true player / coach, being hands-on within the cybersecurity and infosec operations, working with multiple brand leaders.
- Provide oversight and leadership of the company's cybersecurity functions, including managing internal security protocols and working with key external partners.
- Responsible for budgetary management, to include forecasting budgets
- Administer and update security technologies and tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability scanners.
- Analyze security alerts and threat data from multiple sources to identify potential risks and assess their impact on operations.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams, executive leadership, and external security vendors to integrate and ensure robust security measures, investigate security incidents, and implement effective remediation strategies while supporting business continuity across a multi-brand environment.
- Develop, execute, and maintain incident response plans, and cybersecurity support activities, responding swiftly to contain and mitigate cybersecurity threats.
- Oversee post-incident activities, including tracking lessons learned and making improvements to infrastructure for enhanced security.
- Proactively manage risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance related to system security, ensuring alignment with security configurations, policies, and guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and frameworks.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of cybersecurity incidents, including breaches and attacks.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security/Assurance, or a related discipline.
- 10 years of experience working with cybersecurity technologies, including firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection, and intrusion detection systems.
- A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, coaching and developing individual team members across multi-site environments
- Experience in budgetary management, to include furcating budgets
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), with expertise in cloud-native security tools and best practices.
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory standards and frameworks, including ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, and PCI-DSS, and a proven track record in conducting compliance audits and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills, capable of making sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and business-focused, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Prior experience with Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution platforms, strongly preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP), multi-brand organization, or start-up organization is a strong plus.
- Prior experience working with Meraki products preferred.
- Prior experience in project management would be a plus.
- Professional IT and/or InfoSec / Cybersecurity certifications such as Security +, CISM, CRISC, CISA, CISSP or equivalent (strongly preferred).
