Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced AS400 Consultant with strong expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to join our team in Dallas, TX. This role requires hands-on experience in AS400/iSeries platforms along with functional and technical understanding of WMS operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with business users, warehouse teams, and IT stakeholders to support, enhance, and optimize existing WMS applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support, development, and maintenance for AS400/iSeries-based WMS applications.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to AS400 jobs, queries, and WMS workflows.
- Work with warehouse operations team to understand business processes and translate them into system enhancements.
- Develop and modify RPG/RPGLE/COBOL programs on AS400 as required.
- Support integration of WMS with other enterprise systems.
- Perform system testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Prepare documentation for configurations, customizations, and change requests.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of enhancements.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AS400/iSeries platform.
- Strong experience in WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) implementation or support.
- Proficiency in RPG, RPGLE, CL, COBOL, DB2/400, SQL/400.
- Good understanding of warehouse workflows, inventory management, distribution processes, and logistics operations.
- Experience troubleshooting AS400 jobs, batch processing, and performance issues.
- Ability to gather requirements and interact with business stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in integration between WMS and ERP systems.
- Prior work experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or distribution environments.
- Exposure to EDI transactions and data mapping on AS400.
