About This Role

As a Cloud Engineer within the Data Platforms and Engineering organization, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing the cloud infrastructure that powers our modern data platform. This role is responsible for building scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions that support data engineering, integration, and analytics workloads across the enterprise. You will collaborate with platform engineers, DevOps teams, and architects to deliver infrastructure-as-code, automate deployments, and ensure the resilience and performance of our data services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement cloud-native infrastructure to support enterprise data platforms using services like AWS S3, Glue, Kinesis, and SageMaker.
  • Build infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation to enable repeatable and auditable deployments.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and platform developers to provision, configure, and manage secure, high-performance environments.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools like New Relic and CloudWatch to ensure platform observability and reliability.
  • Support CI/CD processes for cloud-based workloads, integrating with tools like GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Contribute to cloud cost optimization efforts in collaboration with Platform Operations and FinOps teams.
  • Ensure infrastructure and workloads comply with security best practices and governance standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or DevOps roles with a focus on AWS.
  • 5+ years of experience working with core AWS services (S3, EC2, IAM, Lambda, VPC, CloudFormation, CDK).
  • 5+ years of experience deploying infrastructure as code and managing cloud environments at scale.
  • 5+ years of scripting or programming experience with Python.
  • High School Diploma / GED.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field-or equivalent experience.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps Engineer).
  • Familiarity with container orchestration (ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes) and serverless architectures.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD principles and tooling.
  • Experience supporting data platforms or distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Iceberg).
  • Familiarity with enterprise security, networking, and compliance standards.
  • Experience in observability tooling and cost governance practices.
