Description

We are offering an opportunity for a Network Administrator to join our team based in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, recommending, and supervising the design and implementation of data and voice networks & systems. Additionally, you will research and evaluate network technologies, monitor network traffic for anomalies, and design networking systems with a focus on network security.

Responsibilities:
Plan, recommend, and supervise the design and implementation of data and voice networks & systems.
Research and evaluate network technologies and make recommendations for equipment purchases.
Monitor network traffic for anomalies, analyze performance data, and make recommendations to optimize systems.
Coordinate special projects, including network-related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, system installation, backup, maintenance, and problem-solving.
Develop and prepare reports on network performance, traffic utilization, and equipment status.
Ensure routine and preventive maintenance, repairs, replacements on components, and networking equipment.
Act as an additional resource for desktop support and as tier 3 support in coordination with the support center.
Assist in developing and monitoring assigned budgets and purchase orders.
Determine root cause of job and system failures, create incident reports, recommend and implement corrective action when required.
Develop, prepare, and maintain processes, policies, procedures, forms, and other tools to manage projects, monitor timelines, and documentation related to network systems and operations.
Monitor and update usage to ensure security of data and access privileges consistently are compliant with policies.
Consult with management and staff to determine the type of hardware, software, or system specifications needed for departments.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role within the IT sector
Proficient in Cisco Routers and Cisco Technologies
Knowledge of Firewall Technologies and Active Directory
Familiarity with Backup Technologies and Computer Hardware
Experience in Configuration Management
Demonstrated skills in Design and FortiGate
Understanding of VoIP systems
Cisco CCNA certification is advantageous
Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues independently
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Solid understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
