Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure in accordance with DoD security standards and best practices.
- Provide technical expertise in the installation, configuration, and administration of Linux servers and services, including CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and Ubuntu.
- Implement and manage security measures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with government regulations.
- Perform regular system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to optimize Linux server performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that meet project requirements and objectives.
- Conduct security assessments and audits to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in Linux systems.
- Create and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in Linux system administration and cybersecurity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Active Secret Clearance is required; Top Secret Clearance preferred.
- Solid experience in Linux system administration, including proficiency with CentOS, RHEL, and Ubuntu.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or KVM.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Certifications such as Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or CompTIA Linux+ are a plus.
