Job Details

Are you looking to join a company and work some awesome Linux Technology? Currently, we are seeking a skilled Linux Engineer with an active Secret Clearance (or able to get one) to join a reputable Department of Defense (DoD) company.
As a Linux Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting and enhancing Linux-based systems for our client's mission-critical projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology within a highly secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design, deploy, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure in accordance with DoD security standards and best practices.
  2. Provide technical expertise in the installation, configuration, and administration of Linux servers and services, including CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and Ubuntu.
  3. Implement and manage security measures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with government regulations.
  4. Perform regular system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to optimize Linux server performance and reliability.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that meet project requirements and objectives.
  6. Conduct security assessments and audits to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in Linux systems.
  7. Create and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  8. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in Linux system administration and cybersecurity.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Active Secret Clearance is required; Top Secret Clearance preferred.
  3. Solid experience in Linux system administration, including proficiency with CentOS, RHEL, and Ubuntu.
  4. Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles.
  5. Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or KVM.
  6. Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  7. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  8. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  9. Certifications such as Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or CompTIA Linux+ are a plus.
