Senior PL/SQL Developer with Python (Houston)

We are looking to hire mid and senior level Oracle developers that have worked large, complex development environments with specific development responsibility revamping legacy applications. These are multi-year engagements that require onsite in Downtown Houston.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developers (2) with Python scripting skills. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience with Oracle databases, specifically Oracle 19c or higher, and will be familiar with advanced database features. The role also includes responsibilities in working with REST APIs and microservices. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Oracle PL/SQL Development:
• Design, develop, and optimize PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, and functions.
• Work with advanced Oracle database features, including working in RAC or Exadata environments.
• Implement strategies for performance tuning and optimization.
• Python Development:
• Develop and maintain Python scripts and applications, with a focus on database interactions and data processing.
• Utilize Python libraries for seamless integration with Oracle databases.
• Application Development:
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring efficient data exchange and system integration.
• Work with JSON data formats for data interchange and API communication.
• Tools and Environment:
• Use version control systems like GIT for efficient code management and collaboration.
• Utilize development tools such as VS Code for coding and debugging.
• Employ tools like Postman for API testing and documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• • Extensive experience with Oracle 19c or higher databases, with a solid understanding of advanced database features and performance tuning.
  • Proficient in PL/SQL development for complex database systems.
  • Python scripting skills integrating with databases.
  • Experience in REST APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with working with JSON data structures.
  • Proficiency with tools such as GIT, VS Code, and Postman.

Experience Not Needed:

• • We do not require or utilize skills in ETL tools like Informatica or big data technologies such as Hadoop, HDFS, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Candidates with extensive experience primarily in these areas will not be a good fit for these positions.
