EDI Architect

Required Technical Skills
Experience with cloud-native architecture.
Golang, Python
AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes in federated mode.
Experience with compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC, PII) is beneficial.

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer with deep expertise in healthcare EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) formats and experience with a compliance environment (could include ie. SOC, PII, Hitrust etc). This individual will play a key role in building and supporting our custom EDI gateway, ensuring seamless integration of complex healthcare data transactions across internal and external systems.

This role is ideal for a dynamic and seasoned technologist who thrives in fast-paced environments, embraces multi-tasking, and demonstrates influence not just within engineering, but also across broader business strategy.

Key Responsibilities
Architect and implement scalable solutions for a proprietary EDI gateway platform.

Design, develop, and maintain healthcare data workflows involving X12, FHIR, HL7, and related formats.

Collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders, product managers, and operations teams to drive end-to-end EDI transaction solutions.

Ensure robust, secure, and compliant data exchanges that align with industry and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA).

Act as a technical and strategic leader, mentoring other team members and influencing business and technology roadmaps.

Participate in professional services engagements to support clients with customized EDI integration needs.

Operate as a generalist with a wide breadth of impact, wearing multiple hats as necessary to meet business goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications
8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on backend systems and healthcare data integrations.

Strong understanding of EDI transaction sets and FHIR workflows.

Hands-on experience building EDI gateways or working within platforms that process healthcare transactions.

Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#, with an emphasis on backend systems architecture.

Demonstrated success in roles of increasing responsibility, with direct impact on both technical direction and business outcomes.

Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and lead complex initiatives.
